Lost Chord Guitars is a delightful, comfortable venue for live music and we are excited to be included in their line up. Tickets are only $15 and all our proceeds will go to the Santa Barbara Youth Project, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit. Half-Marathon Fundraiser

I am resigned to running the Santa Barbara Wine Country Half-Marathon on Saturday, May 11th! As you can see from the attached photo I am currently training very hard with my running pacemaker, Foxy! We would very much appreciate, once again, your generous contributions.

I hope that you will donate to the cause not only out of pity and sympathy for me, but because these programs really do make a very positive difference in the lives of at-risk youth! So if you (hopefully) feel moved to make a tax deductible donate. Every dollar goes to direct program services. Thank you again for your generous support.

SYV Fútbal Club

Congratulations to the SYV Futball Club U11 for their remarkable achievement in their first season winning the "Runner's Up" Cup at the playoffs. The enthusiastic support and dedication of all the coaches and all the parents was very inspirational. And the team is eagerly looking forward to next season!

Delighted to attend the Santa Ynez Football Club 1st Annual Awards Banquet at Oak Valley School on Saturday night, Dec 2nd. The Santa Barbara Youth Project was honored to receive an award for our sponsorship. The parents and coaches are so enthusiastic in their support and encouragement which helps create a wonderful spirit of camaraderie and pure joy for everyone. Looking forward to next season when they will be playing as a U12 team.

The Santa Barbara Youth Project is pleased to be supporting the Santa Ynez Valley U-11 Soccer Team for their first ever season. They are a wonderfully inclusive program, with enthusiastic coaches and players who are supported by a great group of parents.

SAVE THE DATE !

Hello Friends,

Excited to invite you to join us on Sunday, June 30th for our 12th annual Santa Barbara Youth Project Concert.  Details will follow.

In addition !  I am attempting to run for the 1st time ever a half marathon as detailed below.  Every dollar pledged will go a long way to ease my suffering, but most importantly will support our ongoing programs for at-risk and disadvantaged children.  Please send your pledge (or check !) for any amount made out to SBYP to:  SBYP 1531 Chapala St.  Suite 2, Santa Barbara, CA 93101 or go to https://www.facebook.com/donate/2317299305220019/?fundraiser_source=external_url

These legs are 73 years old and were never meant to run long distances. But on Saturday, May 11 they will attempt to carry their 73-year-old body around the Solvang California Half marathon course -13.1 miles of road including three tough hills, one at the beginning one in the middle and one at the end !

Why am I doing this?

Why am I am enduring countless miles of lonely training runs in preparation plus cramps, sore muscles, sore joints, and sore everything else here ?!

I am suffering in the hope of raising money for the Santa Barbara Youth Project, our charitable 501(c)(3) non-profit that my wife, Susan Miller, and I began in the late 1990s. Through the magic of horses we have helped hundreds of disadvantaged and at risk children cope with and overcome traumatic and often tragic life events throughout summer Horse camps and after school programs. So please sponsor and alleviate my sufferring by pledging whatever you can afford per mile. If by some miracle I complete or 13.1 miles you will be able to deduct your total contributionfor tax purposes to the extent allowed under the law.

You can increase my challenge by sponsoring a Performance bonus of whatever amount you choose should I complete the entire 13.1 miles in two hours 30 minutes or less (11 minutes per mile pace). As I have never run any long-distance in my life it’s a pretty safe bet I’ll fail but I’ll try if the incentive is there !

I ride horses for a very good reason —-they are far better at running than me !!!
